The Kane County Coroner, Rob Russell, said that Escobar was taken to an area hospital after the incident and was pronounced dead Thursday evening, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The cause of death was listed as asphyxia due to a machinery mishap, the coroner said.

The Geneva Fire Department said they were called to Bar Technologies shortly after 7pm on Thursday on a report that a person was trapped inside a piece of machinery.

By the time the fire department arrived, the man had been removed from the machinery by co-workers.

The death is reportedly being investigated by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Bar Technologies is located on Fluid Power Drive in Geneva, Illinois, and has been operating for more than 20 years, according to the company’s website.

“Bar Technologies was built in 1997 to service our sister company, Industrial Hard Chrome,” the website says.

“The industry was unable to provide a bar with our demanding quality specifications and thus we began to produce our own.”

Bar Technologies did not immediately respond to The Sun’s request for comment about what happened to Escobar.

The company has not yet released a statement as of Saturday afternoon.
